Behavior
These birds have a bigger chance at boredom than overstimulated. They are fun, loving and clowns. They love water and tearing up things. They absolutely love bath time and if you don't provide one they will have one in a water dish if they have to. They will also need something to tear up; usually wooden toys are the best option for them. Some of the sub-species are more in to chewing than others. You will be able to spend hours just watching as they play and interact. They will also have time when they want to calm down and they may want to cuddle, sit by you, or chew on their favorite soft toy. Conures may have the ability to talk, depending on the type that you have. Some may only whistle and grunt and some may be able to repeat words or manipulate words. They are also known screamers, it's the way they naturally communicate. If you want to take on a conure then you should be prepared to take the time to learn it's behavior. The Sun Conure and the Jenday Conure are the biggest screamers in these group.
