The baby's eyes are completely open now. Since I made sure to see the baby daily, it didn't even try to hiss at me this time. It stayed calm on seeing and moving, at least until I reached over the top of it. I allowed Freya some visiting time but still kept her at a distance since she get so jealous. She seemed a bit scared but was still very curious. We have heard before, that if the baby stays with the parents it will start taking care of the baby too. She gets so jealous now that if I work with any other bird then she starts yelling and then bites a lot afterward. So I'm trying to make sure she is involved with me, the baby and her parents. The baby is starting to get pin feathers on her head and maybe a few on her wings. By the way, when I call the baby a her, it's from default not actual evidence or testing, it's just easier that way. Since the baby doesn't have much feather coverage, we are still encouraging Jay to stay in the nest. Its driving him crazy because he likes to get to the highest spot possible and keep watch.
