The Blue-Crowned Conure
The Blue-Crowned Conure has suffered a long past reputation of being loud but people have learned that when raised in captivity and with the proper care, they ended up being not nearly as loud. Even though they are not known for being loud anymore, they still know and will get their point across when they need to. When these birds are hand-fed, nurtured, and socialized well, they are usually extremely affectionate and loving. They are very intelligent and learn to talk easily. They of course love bath time, like many parrots do, they will even get in their water dish for a bath if they are not getting baths enough. These Conures would be really good for children because it has been observed that they are usually reluctant to bite. Often when they don't want your hand around them, they will push it away or it will gently take a hold of your hand and push it away. No matter if the bird was hand raised or raised by parent, it will still be reluctant to bite, especially really hard.
